9x20 rims: large-format wheels for a dynamic look
9x20 rims are primarily used on high-performance saloons, coupés, sports cars, estate cars and SUVs. The size specification refers to a rim width of 9 inches and a rim diameter of 20 inches. This combination creates a striking look that is particularly effective on vehicles with large wheel arches and high-performance braking systems.
When paired with low-profile tyres, 20-inch rims can enhance direct steering response and precise road feedback. At the same time, ride comfort is often firmer than with smaller rim sizes. Whether a 9x20 rim is suitable for a particular vehicle also depends on bolt circle, offset, centre bore, load capacity and permissible tyre size.
Alloy or steel rims in 9x20
In the 9x20 size, almost exclusively alloy wheels are available. Alloy wheels offer a wide range of design options and are particularly well-suited to enhancing the appearance of modern vehicles. Popular designs include concave multi-spoke designs, striking double-spoke designs and open five-spoke designs.
The range of finishes extends from classic silver through black and anthracite to bronze, gold or high-gloss polished finishes. For use during the colder months, winter-ready alloy wheels with a durable coating are also available.
Steel rims play virtually no role in the 9x20 size on the standard passenger car aftermarket. This large and wide size is almost exclusively reserved for sporty aluminium wheels.

When purchasing, the following points should be checked:
