Fondmetal rims
In 1970, Italian Gabriele Rumi founded the company Fondmetal, in the Italian commune of Palosco. Up until 1984, the rim manufacturer served as a Formula 1 rim supplier, and later even formed its own Formula 1 team.
Today the focus is once again in the manufacture of rims. Fondmetal rims embody this passion for cars and motorsport.

Fondmetal rims: Italian tradition and motorsport expertise
Fondmetal is a long-established Italian brand of alloy rims that combines modern design with in-house manufacturing and technical expertise drawn from motorsport. The rims are developed for the European aftermarket as well as for selected vehicle manufacturers. They are characterised by sporty spoke designs, high-quality finishes and a range that extends from passenger car rims suitable for everyday use to models specifically designed for performance.
History and origins of the company
The history of Fondmetal began on 24 June 1972 in Palosco, a town between Bergamo and Brescia in Italy. The company was founded by Gabriele Rumi, initially as an aluminium foundry. However, the family’s tradition in metalworking dates back to 1908.
The production of various aluminium components gradually evolved into a specialisation in alloy wheels. The founder’s passion for cars and motor racing played a key role in this development. In the 1980s and 1990s, Fondmetal was active in Formula 1 as a wheel supplier, sponsor and, later, with its own racing team. The experience gained there had a lasting impact on the Brand’s technical direction.
Fondmetal continues to develop and manufacture its rims in Italy. Modern manufacturing facilities, automated production processes, as well as testing and certification, are designed to ensure consistent quality, reliability and safety.
