Description
Our new development inspired by the award winning ROADTEC™ 01 for scooters with 10 to 16 inch wheels. The ROADTEC™ scooter is characterised by its extreme flexibility and versatility and impresses under the most varied weather, temperature and road conditions in the city and on country roads.
Grip at all conditions: An improved rubber compound with high SILICA content combined with sophisticated tread groove and rib arrangement assures a high mechanic as well as chemical grip under all conditions. The radial rear tyre features a dual compound layout where the compound in the centre of the tread covers 20% of the tyre width while the mixtures on the shoulders cover 40% of the width each. The mixture on the shoulders ensures a better contact feeling when driving at lean angles under wet conditions. The centre of the tread features a balanced mixture of silica and carbon black which improves the stability at high speeds and the heat distribution, and thereby helps in creating a balance between abrasion resistance and grip.
Versatility for the usage at each time of the year: The composition with a high silica content is characterized by its extreme flexibility and versatility and impresses in a wide range of weather, temperature and road conditions in the city and on country roads.
Superior regarding handling and comfort: Thanks to the innovative rounded cross-section, the contact surface is short and wide, which results in an optimized behaviour and safer feeling when changing to a leaning position next to a lower and more even wear. The increased contact surface distributes the vehicle weight and the acceleration forces over a larger area, reducing the stress on the rubber compound and preventing overheating.
Safety during wetness and on surfaces with low grip: The tread design has been developed to improve the mechanical traction and ensures noticeable improvements when accelerating and braking. The tyre’s surface has a great number of tread grooves and edges which are in contact to the street at the same time, improving the mechanical grip, the water drainage and the safety feeling; the surface offers more contact with the road especially at medium lean angles. The lateral grooves in the front tyre grip the asphalt as separate elements to increase the water drainage, while the short ribs, which are aligned in opposite directions, increase the stability and comfort while braking. The ribs help to increase the traction on the surface with low grip and help the rubber compound to warm up faster. The rear tyre has wide tread grooves and long ribs in opposite directions which combine different effects.
